NBA Top Shot Weekly Updates (5/6–5/12)
Hello! I bet you didn’t see that coming. Weekly Updates are back! Woohoo! For a one-time-only event. Something that I was doing every week from July till December 2021. I decided why not bring it back for one week, should be fun! Obviously so much happened in the last 5 months, I might touch on it, might not, let’s focus on this week and get into it!
Packs, Marketplace and Updates
So the last pack drop was the first Playoff pack of the 2022 season, which cost $19 or 10 trade tickets (which I love). I see already a lot of collectors going for the full set, love to see that! The next pack drop very well may be the new WNBA Run It Back from the 2008 season, I’m personally excited about that! But nothing can beat in my opinion original WNBA RIB set, the 25 best players of all-time, still didn’t complete that but now may be a good time with potential airdrops coming.
We gonna skip the floor prices this week. Just kidding, here they are. If you have kids in the front of the screen please be cautioned, these images can be frightening.
We have actually quite a lot of cool updates from the last week and more. WNBA is back on Top Shot with the new season as I mentioned above, packs are coming and many challenges are already happening.
Top Shot 101, is a really great video with Steve (who didn’t work for Dapper last time I wrote this). Share it with people who just joined the site, I think it’s very helpful. Please more of that.
Top Shot podcast! With Steve (this guy is everywhere!) and Brandon Sowle, who you might remember from the MomentRanks streams. Great listen, they recap what happened last week in Top Shot (where did I’ve heard that?), have guests, and more. Check it out if you didn’t before.
Doris Burke!!! Yes, Doris Burke is now on Top Shot! And doing voiceovers for moments, how cool is that? As a big fan of hers, that’s really awesome to see!
Speaking of Weekly Updates… Packrip Ewing! He’s been doing something very similar called Full Court Press, you can find it right in your Gmail or Yahoo (if you’re a weirdo) inboxes. Highly recommended!
Challenges
Too many! Seriously, a lot of challenges. But I’m gonna recap a few that are happening right now. The biggest challenge right now is how to bring new users to the site… alright, it’s called Leagues’ Finest when you have to collect all the players who have an MVP badge on the site (including W), to receive a pretty nice packs reward. RIB 15–16, Throwdown S2, and KD Elite Pack. And we have a couple of WNBA challenges as well for some Fandom moments. Including Series 4, sounds crazy, I feel like we were just in Series 2.
Community
Would take me forever to recap what happened in the community in the last months. And not that much happened in the last week. But I want to shout out Mike Zakarian (TopShotTony owns you), TopShotTalk, ActuallyJebBush, and JonBoyBeats who have been first of all really great TS community members and creators. But now they have this Avengers-style show called Shot Tank that they do every week, recapping and talking about what happened in TS… wait this reminds me of Weekly Updates again, I guess a lot of people do that now. But these guys are the best so go join them live or watch the recap, both are good times.
So this is it. Honestly felt really good writing about Top Shot in this way again, good times. And maybe I bring it back as a weekly thing one day, the thing is I have a lot going on right now (a good kind) and feel like there are better ways to catch up with Top Shot weekly, as some that I posted above. Of course, couldn’t let you go without a giveaway! Let’s go crazy, let’s do Shaquille O’Neal Archive moment, I love it, super underrated imo, and would be cool to see one of you win it.
