Top Shot Thoughts Episode 2
Hello! About a month ago I did a post called Top Shot Thoughts. Basically, I just share a few of my thoughts on Top Shot and more, it’s almost like a journal for me. Just the things I wanna share but don’t wanna tweet. Very casual, just for a few hundred people that read my blog. So let’s do it.
I think the argument that many basketball fans have yet to join Top Shot is valid… but not everyone is a collector. I’ve been a collector my whole life and always had people at my place saying “oh, that’s cool” and then when I ask them if they will buy it, well, they say no.
$19 for a pack. I think for many people who collect NFTs and live in North America that’s fine. But more than the half of world's population just can’t spend even $19 on digital cards, that’s a luxury for them.
If I sell something doesn’t mean I don’t like it anymore, it’s more about me than anything else. What I enjoyed having in my collection a year ago just may not be the same things I enjoy having now, doesn’t mean I don’t like them, it just means I prefer another thing now better.
One of my favorite stories of all time is the Beatles' knock on the door story. Ringo Starr goes and knocks on John Lennon’s door, and tells him “Hey John, I just don’t feel like I’m part of the group, you three are so close and I feel like an outsider”. John responds “I feel like it’s you three that are close and I’m the outsider”. Ringo then goes to Paul McCartney and tells the same thing, Paul responds “I thought you three who are close”. Not an exact quote but you get the point, people have doubts and it’s all about perspective.
Today is the 20th anniversary of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man (2002). I used to read comic books in school and older kids use to laugh at me and bully me for that. Fast-forward 2 years to Spider-Man 2 (2004), and I see those same kids in line for the movie premiere. And now comic book movies are the biggest thing on the planet. You’re not cool until you’re. Be yourself.
Call your mom/dad.
I took a month's break from Twitter/Discord and came back. Some people said it was short. You try it.
I don’t know how some of you don’t take a shower every day, I just can’t live without it, it’s so refreshing and I like the feeling of being clean.
Also, clean your apartment/house. Trust me, you gonna feel better. And a little music always helps with that.
Speaking of music, Olivia Rodrigo, recently listened to her, can’t believe I relate to the music of a 19-year-old girl so much. The power of music.
Okay, let’s end with that. Not gonna hold you for long, if you’ve read all of these, thank you, I appreciate it. Hopefully, it gave you something to think about it, or maybe even you got inspired. No specific goal here, just sharing my thoughts. See you next time. Happy collecting!
